It is said that the best of the photographs convey a compelling story.  This cannot be any truer than photographs of people, be they newborns nestled in the warmth of their mother’s arms or the 80-year old with the wisdom of the world in their gaze, and every age in between.  I approach people photography with a high sense of reverence.   I strongly believe that the finesse of a good photographer lies in their ability to establish a rapport with the subject; to photograph them at their best.

My first foray into photographing children in a serious way happened when I took my trusted SLR to India to photograph my niece who was 3 months old about 10 years ago.  I photographed every single one of her little quirks, facial expressions and body language shifts and in turn discovered my love for paying close attention to the subject and capturing the moment

The innocence and purity of a child’s expression, the pride that emanates from a new parent holding their child, the comfort that is evident in a family’s dynamic, the awkwardness in a teen’s body language, the simple joy evident in a newly-wed’s face, and many more moments and emotions can be captured and transformed into works of art even by a simple inspired photographer with the right skills.

I present, myself, a simply inspired photographer who pays close attention to capture the moment that is significant beyond words can describe.
